My name is Ben Durkovic and I'm a Los Angeles–based drummer from Virginia with over a decade of experience performing, teaching, and studying music. I got my first drum set as a child and later developed my passion for live performance while volunteering for my church’s worship team. After high school, I began giving private lessons, sharing my love of music with kids and teenagers while continuing to grow as a player.

 

I recently graduated from Musicians Institute with an associate degree in drum performance, studying primarily under Fred Dinkins along with Bernie Galane, Stewart Jean, Albe Bonacci, and many others. While in school, I performed at various clubs and bars around Hollywood, including venues such as Universal CityWalk, Daddy Diamonds, and Nirvessa Records. I’ve also had the opportunity to join artists like Ricky Jimenez on the road for shows throughout California.

 

Now, I’m focused on building my professional career as both a performer and educator. I feel most at home in rock, funk/fusion, pop, and R&B, but I’m dedicated to deepening my understanding of jazz and other forms of Black American music. Whether on stage or in the practice room with students, I bring a strong commitment to musicianship, growth, and collaboration.
